I’m off on another solo run this time heading to the Simpson. There’s a rough itinerary below that includes heading to the geo centre, a run through the Flinders Range and a dip in Dalhousie Springs. The main event though is crossing the Madigan Line east to west (steeper dunes).

Like the Darling trip recently, if anyone can get the time off and wants to tag along they’re more than welcome
….unlike the Darling trip though, this will be a bit more demanding on you (long distances each day) and your ride (you’ll need to be well set up with decent tyres & suspension, good recovery gear (a winch preferred) and long range tanks (or can carry extra fuel)) you’ll also need to be self sufficient (mechanically minded with tools, spare parts, first aid) and you’ll need carry plenty food and water etc.

Rough itinerary:
1) Sydney to Dubbo
2) Dubbo to Bourke
3) Bourke to Cameron Corner (via The Cut Line)
4) Cameron Corner to Birdsville (via Cordilo Downs)
5) Birdsville to Madigan Line – Camp 15 (via Poeppel Corner)
6-12) Madigan Line to Old Andado
13) Old Andado to Finke (via GeoCentre)
14) Finke to Mt Dare
15) Mt Dare to Pink Roadhouse (via Dolhousie Springs)
16) Pink Roadhouse to Marree (via Oodnadatta Track)
17) Marree to Hawker (via Flinders)
18) Hawker to Broken Hill (via Silverton)
19) Broken Hill to Dubbo
20) Dubbo to Sydney
