Time zone: Sydney
Reminder: None
Ends: 5:00pm Sunday 02 May 2021 (duration is 1 day)

NOTE: trip postponed to new date of 1st May 2021.

This is a camping trip to explore the different tracks on Mt Airlie over two days. The first day will be an easy day, just to get up to the top and set up camp, and enjoy the panoramic views. Before setting up our bush camp up top next the old mine shaft, we would also be exploring a few easier tracks. The second day will be clamoring up the tough track leading to Genowlan Point, which we did in Feb 2016.

Please bring all necessary gears for BUSH camping, ie no facilities, no lights. But we’ll try to get a campfire going. Hopefully, we’ll have a starry sky, and enjoy the majestic Milky Way as we chat.

Mt Airlie is in the majestic Capertee Valley, the widest Canyon of the World, so the claim.

For the second day, we’ll need moderately experienced crews and a couple of cars with winches. Be prepared for battle scars.

For those interested, please see the following video for the 2016 trip,

If demand is too high, I shall give priority to those who attended last time in 2016. Please take note.

Observers are welcome for the 2nd day, the limit to the number is because we don’t want to make the day longer than necessary. Please enrol yourself for being just an observer/photographer for the 2nd day, if not, just to take in the panoramic views up there.

Please see another trip notice for the observers.

Everyone will be camping together, and we shall enjoy the campfire talks.

The meeting point on the Saturday shall be the small park just opposite Glen Davis Rd at Capertee, off Castlereagh Hwy.
